A world without artificial fertilizers with sustainable agriculture
Gralg produces microalgae that are dried and offered to agriculture as climate-positive and organic fertilizer, which significantly contributes to reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
Our solution
Artificial fertilizers lead to enormous climate emissions, estimated to be 5% of Sweden’s total emissions. They also cause eutrophication and, in the long term, degrade the soil.
Our solution is a circular business model. Microalgae are cultivated in outgoing water from treatment plants that have elevated levels of nutrients. In this way, we utilize the nutrients already present in the system. At the same time, the algae capture carbon dioxide from the air, creating a fertilizer with a negative net emission!
An organic fertilizer made from microalgae contains mineral and biological nutrients as well as biological carbon, which improves soil quality.

Why microalgae?
Microalgae are one of the fastest-growing organisms on Earth and can, under optimal conditions, double their biomass daily.
Microalgae contain valuable nutrients.
Microalgae can be cultivated on land unsuitable for other crops.
